Bunks At Rode Hostel - Oslo

We had an amazing stay at Bunks! The automated check-in was super convenient, and we loved the privacy curtains on the comfy bunks. The rooftop view was fine, despite a few noisy guests and the lack of cooking facilities. highly recommend!

Choosing the Bunks for its prime location made this dream easy to pursue. I was pleasantly surprised by the free WiFi throughout the hotel, allowing me to plan my daily excursions effortlessly. The social lounge was great for meeting people from around the globe and offered a microwave for simple meals, perfect when paired with a quick trip to the nearby KIWI for ready meals and salads.

The communal area, while spacious with ample seating, lacks essential kitchen facilities.

the location is ideal, with a supermarket right downstairs and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. i appreciated the spacious dorms that felt inviting rather than cramped, and the thoughtful design, like lockers accessed by a key card, made things more convenient. the beds were super comfy, and i loved the great sound insulation and ventilation in the bunks. the clean bathrooms and modern facilities enhanced the experience.

That said, there were some hiccups. The check-in process felt a bit impersonal since it was all through a machine. the beds could have been more comfortable, and I did notice a lack of community vibe since there weren’t many social events happening. it’s a decent spot for a budget stay!

I did notice that some bathrooms were closed for maintenance, which was a slight inconvenience. Although there were enough facilities available, it would have been preferable to have all amenities operational during my visit.

I had always wanted to visit Oslo Opera House, and its close proximity to the hostel made it a perfect choice for my trip. I also appreciated the local tips shared by the Social Host, especially about discovering the lively Oslo Street Food scene and the charming Sunday Market at BLÅ. The whole vibe created a wonderful atmosphere for mingling and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.

During my brief transit stay at Bunks At Rode Hostel, I appreciated its convenient location, just 100 meters from the nearest bus stop and a mere 2.2 kilometers from Oslo Central. The hostel provided a clean environment and free towels, making my stay comfortable. the spacious dorm rooms had modern amenities, which I found ideal for a short visit.

A minor drawback was the limited kitchen facilities. While there were microwaves available, the lack of basic cooking equipment made it challenging who wanted to prepare meals.
